Discussion 1: Contemporary Issues in Adult Education

In your post, name one contemporary issue for each of the following topics that is impacting adult education at this time:

• Economic
• Historical
• Sociocultural

After you have identified one contemporary issue for each of the three topics, you will create a post explaining the following:

• How is the economic contemporary issue affecting the adult education within your community or state?
• How is the historical contemporary issue affecting the adult education within your community or state?
• How is the sociocultural contemporary issue affecting the adult education within your community or state?

Once you have identified and explained the impact of each issue on the adult education within your community or state, you will post the following:

• Open a conversation within the Discussion with a peer from another state and suggest a resolution for their contemporary issue affecting adult education. Your peer will suggest resolutions for your issues.

• Finally, examine the suggested resolutions your peer has provided and open a discussion with an analysis of how you would implement those suggested resolutions within an adult education classroom.

Discussion 2: Contemporary Practices

The Discussion has several components. You may not be able to address all of these questions in a single post. You will need to plan to return to the Discussion several times during the week to weigh in on the questions. Please make sure you do so as part of both original posts as well as in replies to your classmates. Remember that your grade for the Discussion Board comprises both original postings and your contributions through replies. Both are great places to introduce new information, opinions, links, etc.; and both are equally important to your grade.

You will be using a Google form for the first part of this Discussion. The form contains directions for using a search engine to locate contemporary practices and after you click the submit button additional directions will be provide to continue the Discussion.

3. Compare and contrast the practices by explaining the commonalities and differences between each of the practices you selected.
