Problem

Reflection of article, newsworthy event or physical event. There are three basic parts to presenting thoughts for newsworthy 'current event'.

Current Events: deconstructing civic problems in our communities based on a legitimate news source.

A. Summary: Offer description and summary of what the author is saying. What is important for the reader to know from the article and what key points can you identify? How is the audience engaged and called to action? Is the audience's belief of the social situation being challenged?

B. Analysis: Offer analysis of the author's position. What are assumptions made by the author which you can identify? What content can you debate or question? What spurred their article or research?

C. Evaluation: Offer evaluation of both the strengths and weaknesses of what the author states. How does the content flow? How relevant is the content in the article to the textbook in regards to identifying leadership or lack thereof? Did the article convince you differently or further support your personal conclusions of the civic problem? How does the psychological lens chosen, help you orient your thoughts toward the identified community?
