How is pop art different than the art that came before it

Response to the following:

1) As artists began leaving traditional paint and canvasses behind in favor of developing their concept using existing imagery that everyone was familiar with, we see a large number of works that are conceived by an artist, but either completed by other people or mass produced. How do you feel about this situation? Would you still consider it fine art if it was thought of and designed by the artist, but executed by another?

2) How is Pop Art different than the art that came before it? What was it responding to in the art world?

3) For those that support some level of censorship - even if only in 'extreme cases', since everyone has different levels of tolerance when it comes to what should be censored and what should not, how do we decide where the line is drawn? Who gets to make that decision? More importantly...in the big picture, why are these questions so central to the issue?
