• Functionalist: Taboos (How is labeling something as "taboo" functional? What purpose is there to labeling something as taboo?)
• Conflict: Patriotism/Ethnocentrism (How can ethnocentrism or being overly patriotic contribute to political or power struggles, conflict, oppression, or inequality?)
• Feminist: Mass Media (How would the feminist theory explain how women are portrayed in television, movies, media? Does that portrayal help or harm them?)
• Symbolic Interactionist: Funerals (How does the symbolism surrounding funerals/death influence our behaviors at funerals/in response to death?)
