Read both articles, and then discuss how the field of neuroscience has changed over the past several decades in terms of the methods of available to neuroscientists, culminating in the exciting methods shown in this module's TED Talks (see the "Advances in Neuroscience" content). How have these newer methods such as optogenetics improved upon "classic" methods such as electrolytic lesions?
