How have mags and the isolation of new cultures affected

Problem

What are MAGS (metagenome-assembled genomes)? How have MAGS and the isolation of new cultures affected the view of microbiologists about whether there are two or three domains of life and the origins of eukaryotes? Does this data change your view about eukaryogenesis? Why or why not? (Hint: There were several slides on this topic in the prokaryotic diversity lecture that I expect to be helpful here. I am looking for a well-thought out, and organized, persuasive argument that cites multiple sources of data/info that we have learned about in class. It is ok to use material you have found elsewhere, but please be careful in thinking about the source of that material. Is the writer a microbiologist? Have they published any papers on this topic? When was the piece you are looking at written? Is it up to date?)
