1. How has the job of human resources professionals changed over the past two decades? How is it going to change in the coming two decades? Provide a forecast of trends in HR that you see forthcoming.

2. Write a short, real case study of an incidence of culture shock. This may be an experience you had in a foreign country or it may be based on you interviewing someone else who has worked abroad. The goal is to provide an example of culture shock for an expatriate employee. Explain how such challenges can be reduced, or prevented.

3. Investigate the HR functions in your organization. Which functions are outsourced to foreign countries and why? Which other ones might be outsourced in the coming years?

4. What are some best practices for training employees and managers who will become expatriates in foreign lands that are culturally very different from our customs and norms in the United States?

5. Discuss a valuable topic, concept or theory that you reflected upon in the week's assigned readings that is not mentioned above. Tell us the interesting topic from the assigned reading, what is it all about, what is the valuable element or learning point, and/or how we can make good use of it.
