Problem:
After reviewing the HIV serology for the 42 y/o patient, the lab is confirmed positive. The FNP understands the current recommendation is: Begin treatment with 2 anti-retroviral drugs from at least 2 classes Order immediate HIV viral load to guide decision to start anti-retroviral medication Order immediate CD4 lymphocyte count to guide the decision to start anti-retroviral medication Begin treatment w/ 3-4 anti-retroviral drugs from at least 2 classes
