Problem
While Malcolm X was correcting in asserting that "the real names of our people were destroyed during slavery," remarkably much of African culture did survive that horrible institution and have since become cherished parts of African-American culture that are carried on to this day. How enslaved Africans, brought to the Americas, were able to leave their cultural impact on this country in regards to styles and ways of being.
