Question: This week your discussion question will be: The Enlightenment resulted in many revolutions across the world. Two of the most prominent revolutions were the American Revolution and French Revolution. Both of these revolutions produced prominent documents that encapsulated the spirit of the Enlightenment. From your reading on the Enlightenment and before you have really covered the French and American revolutions, take some time and discuss the ideas of reason, the equitable treatment of man, and religious pluralism (seeing the role of different religions existing together in society) of society through one of these documents. You can pick the Declaration of Independence or the Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen. When you discuss, leave a citation of where you're pulling your information from. When responding to your peers, be respectful and engage in the ideas of the Enlightenment (reason, equality, and pluralism).
