Two distinct, extreme answers to the special composition question (SCQ: under what conditions do some things xx compose something y?) are universalism and nihilism. Consider how each would answer the general composition question (GCQ: what is the composition relation / what is composition?). Could they agree on an answer? If so, what is a candidate answer? If not, how would each answer GCQ and how is it that these answers differ?
