Consider your results from this week's Connect readings as context for your prior knowledge, as well as the new content you have learned about infancy and early childhood development. In Ch. 5, you read about the different ways that we learn behaviors. Consider a behavior that you have. How can you explain how you learned this behavior through one of the types of learning presented in Ch. 5? Socioemotional development in infancy and early childhood sets the foundation for how children will respond in different types of situations throughout life. Consider the four types of parenting styles mentioned in Ch. 6 of Essentials of Lifespan Development: authoritative, authoritarian, neglectful, and indulgent.
