Purpose of Homework
The purpose of this homework is to examine management fundamentals and to determine what it takes to be an effective manager. For this homework, students will examine management within organizations honing in on the skills, roles and functions of managers.
Task
Select an organization (current, previous or one with which you are familiar) and examine the management within.
Prepare a 1,050 words report in which you define what it takes to be a successful manager.
Include the following:
1) Describe management's responsibility within the organization.
2) Compare and contrast the three management roles and skills within the organization and explain why it is necessary for managers to play various roles to be effective.
3) Define the four functions of management and explain how each of the functions is used in the organization by managers.
4) Provide a specific example showing how each function is utilized by management.
Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:
(1) The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
