Both sonnet sequences create personas for the speaker and his beloved. Describe at least two of the created personas (e.g., the speakers in both sequences, or Astrophil and his Stella, etc.). Being careful to distinguish between the biographical person on whom the persona is based and his/her construction in the poetry. What qualities characterize these personas? How does the poet convey the image? How does the persona develop over the sequence? How does your understanding of the developing persona impact your understanding of specific sonnets? Etc. Be sure to quote from several sonnets.
