In this Module (in my Commentary) we read about the Kwakiutl Indians of the Pacific Northwest, and the custom in which a person who suffers serious loss may "lash back" at the hardship by inflicting pain on another party. In particular we looked at the case of a chief of a tribe who lost his sister and his niece in an accident. What do you think the right thing to do is in this case?
