Assignment: Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority Field Trip
Each student is to submit a 2-3 page typed, summary (1.5 spacing, Times New Roman font, 12 point, 1 inch margin, double sided) of the information provided during the tour of the Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority Sewage Treatment facility. The Lab report is due at the beginning of the next week's lab class. -
In your lab write up, please restate each question/topic (in bold) with your answer following each question.
The report should address the following questions:
• When was the WVSA constructed and how was it modified?
• What is the source of the sewage and from what communities does it originate?
• How does the sewage arrive at the WVSA?
• Describe the treatment process in detail.
• Where us the waste water after treatment discharged to?
• What are the waste products from the treatment process and how is the waste disposed of?
• How did the facility meet the new Total Maximum Daily Limits of Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Total Dissolved Solids discharge levels? What was the estimated cost and how was it paid for?
