Current Trends
As you examine your own goals and possible future careers in psychology, please address some of the current trends in the larger field. Choose at least three of the following, and write at least two double spaced pages on what the current research says, how it might relate to your areas of interest/career, and what kind of media attention it may have received. You are free to incorporate materials from the news and the Internet, but you must inform your writing with at least four scholarly articles
1) Health Psychology and Its Bio-Psycho-Social Emphasis:
Discuss the intersection of these aspects as well as the fields of health prevention and promotion.
2) Psychology and Social Change:
How can those of us in the field of psychology learn about and influence socially-responsible institutions?
3) The Effects of Social Media:
How does social media affect entrance-level psychology majors, with a focus on the impact of media and technology on human behavior? Careers may include those in media, advertising, and research.
