Unions often argue that they secure a variety of different rewards for employees (see Chapter 9, Exhibit 9.3). Take the position that unions are losing popularity because they are not as good at obtaining these rewards as they used to be (or alternatively, that they were never that good at obtaining these rewards for their members). (A 1½-page response is required.)
1) For which of the rewards is this particularly true?
2) Explain how laws/legislation and how enlightened management have made unions less successful in obtaining rewards.
3) How does international competition and enlightened management influence a union in this regard?
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
