Healthcare Leader Interview

Overview: In Module Three, you conducted an interview of a public health or healthcare leader in order to assess how effective public health leadership can solve organizational or community issues.

For this assignment, due in Module Four, you will be compiling your notes on the interview and preparing them for presentation, either as a brief podcast you may share with your classmates in the Healthcare Leader Interview forum (optional) or as a journal assignment to be submitted to your instructor.

For this assignment, first review Chapter 12 in your textbook, which includes a discussion of the roles and responsibilities of healthcare leaders as well as the skills these leaders exhibit in providing effective leadership. Next, interview a public health or healthcare leader in your organization, community, or region.

You can conduct your interview in person, by phone, by email, or using any method that works for you and your interview subject. The purpose of this interview is to determine what leadership means to this individual.

How does he or she demonstrate leadership on a daily basis? How has the individual's leadership helped solve organizational or community issues?

If you are unable to find someone to interview, reach out to your instructor.

NOTE: Remember to use the Interview Consent form to obtain formal consent from the interviewee prior to the interview. The form is located in the Assignments and Rubrics section of the course.
