How does the concept of national sovereignty exist in tension with the goals and operations of international organizations (such as the United Nations) and international NGOs? How can states employ the concept and language of national sovereignty to advance their positions on global issues: territorial and maritime claims, human rights enforcement, asylum policies, environmental regulations, the operations of foreign NGOs, or other issues?
