1. How does Brandon's expression of emotion help or hinder his interactions with Emily? How does his perception alter his emotions with Emily? Would you say that Brandon is able to express emotions clearly with Emily?
2. What benefits do you see occurring when Brandon begins to let his emotions surface? How does this then affect his ability to communicate?
3. Self-talk affects the way that Brandon interacts with Emily. Review pages 143-145 regarding this concept. You will want to develop three different interpretations of what Brandon or Emily experience as they struggle with self-talk within this movie. You will want to identify the event, the thought he/she has, and the emotion that may be felt. You want to replicate the event, thought, and emotion as seen on page 145. Then, identify why it is significant to identify these various reflections.
4. What aspect of The Most Beautiful Thing was the most meaningful to you in regards to irrational thinking and debilitative emotions? Why? How would you be able to make this connect to a personal experience? What could you do to handle these fallacies better?
