Assignment task:
A social venture was created with the mission to eliminate malaria in a certain region of our world. Using the process of Design Thinking, the solution that was most practical to help eliminate malaria was the distribution of mosquito nets. After evaluating the cost structure, the organization found that they would be able to distribute the nets free of charge to pregnant women and to families that had children under the age of five.
Now, imagine that you are a 30 year-old single man living in a rural village and you are just as prone to malaria. The local shops don't carry mosquito nets because they weren't making any profit from them and the hospitals could not give out any because they needed them. You also couldn't order any online, because you don't have a lap top and/or electricity. How do you get a mosquito net?
Does this mean that the organization should not provide mosquito nets to anyone? Does this mean that the organization should re-think who the nets are distributed to? How do we solve this problem?
