How do you feel about the aca good bad or some of both

As a young boy, I was frequently told there were just a few things you don't talk about in polite company unless you're looking for an argument. Those prohibited topics weren't always the same, but sex, politics, religion, and money usually seemed to be in the mix. To kick off this class, I think maybe we should begin with a discussion that encompasses all those prohibited topics, so here goes.

Just last week the US House of Representatives passed a bill to overturn the Affordable Care Act ("ACA," also known as Obamacare). Depending on who you listen to, this is either the end of civilization as we know it, or a new beginning to allow Americans to gain control of their healthcare, their reproduction, and their money.

To answer this week's question, you're probably need to do a little research, some reading, and (heaven forbid) some thinking. If you state facts, you might want to cite your sources (a link will be fine). Here are the questions:

In a sentence or two, what are the two sides of the healthcare debate, and who's right?

How do you feel about the ACA? Good? Bad? Or some of both? What's good and what's bad?

Any opinions about the new healthcare law, what is being called the "American Health Care Act of 2017" (AHCA)?

What is an "affordable" price for healthcare (let's say for a family of four per month) and who should pay it?

Should the US have free healthcare for its citizens? Why or why not? (You know, it's common in most westernized countries-or is it?)
