This week you’ll dive into the importance of presentational aids and how they can help you support the overall message you’re attempting to deliver. For part 1 of this week’s discussion I want you think about a few things:
What are effective presentational aids?
How do you determine what type of aid is appropriate for your speech?
What types of presentational aids are going to be most effective in delivering a speech online via webcam?
You’re also going to be discussing the important role that effective language plays in a speech. For part 2 of this week’s discussion, I’d like you to do the following.
Identify a handful of words or phrases that mean different things to different cultures (offensive, vulgar and profane words/phrases will not be tolerated).
Explain the importance of dialect when public speaking. What are the ramifications of failing to use the proper English Language?
