Recently, the news has been inundated with concerns about the Zika virus - its origins, spread, and dangers. Connecting the issues of the spread of disease to global capitalism and social inequality (such as that revealed by Spangler's work in Tanzania in 2007-2008), how can an anthropologist approach the issue of the Zika virus and possibly assist the CDC and other agencies through their skills?
