The recent emergence of new media technologies over the last 10 or 20 years has been both a blessing and a curse for our society. What challenges does our heavily technologized media world pose for the public speaker? In other words, how do emergent media technologies make public speaking a more difficult challenge than in the past? What opportunities does our heavily technologized media world present for the public speaker? In other words, how do emergent media technologies make public speaking an easier task than in the past? And finally, what about Zoom specifically? How has Zoom helped public speaking (and specifically teaching and learning) during the pandemic? And how Zoom negatively affected public speaking (and specifically teaching and learning) during the pandemic?
