Follow along with the guided imagery instructions found in the CengageBrain website audio file. You can select the Guided Imagery: Using Your ImaginationImagery Mountain Lake or the Guided Imagery Floating through Colors exercise. You may want to try them both. Practice the technique at least two times according to the instructions on the audio file. This exercise is probably best done sitting in a comfortable position rather than lying down. It is not one that is used to help you fall asleep so much as it is used to deeply relax you while remaining conscious. Allow approximately 15 minutes to complete the exercise. After completing guided imagery, respond to the following questions. Describe primarily how you were feeling in relation to your stress levels.

First practice:

a) How did you feel before the exercise?
b) What was your experience during the exercise?
c) How did you feel immediately after the exercise?
d) How did you feel several hours after completing the exercise?

Second practice:

a) How did you feel before the exercise?
b) What was your experience during the exercise?
c) How did you feel immediately after the exercise?
d) How did you feel several hours after completing the exercise?

Summary: After you have practiced the exercise and described your experiences, include a brief review of what you liked and/or did not like about this technique. Compare this technique to some of the others you have practiced. Would this be a relaxation technique you would consider using on a regular basis for stress management? Why or why not?
