How did you condense or simplify the text for your museums

Paper Assignment- Museum Wall Text

Imagine that you have been hired for the summer as a curatorial assistant at a well-known museum. Your first assigned task is to write a wall text for an artwork recently acquired by the museum.

Your assignment has two parts:

1. Choose a work in any medium from the 20th century or later and write a wall text for it of no more than 300 words that could hang next to it in the museum. Keep in mind your audience: How can those 300 words describe the work and provide enough information such that an average person could appreciate it?

2. Write a short report (at least three pages) for your boss at the museum demonstrating that you've researched the work and explaining the choices you made when you composed the wall text. How did you condense or simplify the text for your museum's audience? What points were you not able to make in your 300 words?
