Your initial response to the DQ should contain some examples or details that demonstrate that you have read and understood the relevant portions of the textbook. In my opinion a good initial response shouldn't be too brief, but rather about the same length as a standard check point assignment. Follow up responses can be shorter, but should do more than simply agree or disagree. Excessively short or off-topic responses will not be counted as substantive and therefore won't count toward the participation score.
