I think community policing is a good way to serve justice and to build bonds that can't be broken with the community. My father was a police officer who worked his way through law school before passing away during my first year of college. So I hear stories from the family all the time about how they used to die laughing as my dad rode a bike around with a police helmet in my small town of 3000. I find it funny because most small towns don't do community policing from what I've seen, which is weird to me. This way of policing is one of the most effective, as the media frequently highlights instances where law enforcement does the wrong things, and this erodes the trust people have not only in the police force but in humanity as a whole. The media never shows the good that law enforcement does. Community policing builds bonds and shows that you can be trusted. Community policing lays the foundation for building trust and a profound sense of security by creating open lines of communication and collaboration between law enforcement officers and residents. When officers actively engage with community members regularly, they become familiar faces(Manresa, 2023). When this is done effectively, I feel like this type of policing is one of the most effective forms to exist. When those around you feel as if you have their back and will go out of your way to ensure they're safe, it builds a bond like no other. Need Assignment Help?
