How client may receive information, process said information

Problem: Make a discussion reply to this. Both learning and communication styles play a pivotal role in coaching as they determine how a client may receive information, process said information, and ultimately engage with the information. No two clients will learn and/or communicate in the exact same way, even if they come from similar backgrounds or share similar experiences. This becomes especially clear when looking at a civilian and a veteran, and the type of veteran at that. A veteran, such as myself, that is working with ayahuasca and doing integration coaching is not going to necessarily communicate in the same way when working with a civilian as I may with a veteran. And as I mentioned, even within the veteran community there are vastly different types of veterans, ranging from combat, support, special operations, aviation, surface, and even those who just 'played' military. Each branch within the military may share a similar lingo, but the subcultures within each are also entirely different, its like the philosophical phrase 'same same, but different'. This then shows how what may work for one individual, or group, may fall on deaf ears with the next individual, or group. Effective coaching requires being able to recognize these differences without slipping into codependency or over-identification. Ultimately, I feel the best approach, is to simply speak to the individual that is sitting directly in front of you and remove any bias or ideas of how/who they are and let them.
