The article "Don't Mess with Texas" stresses how there is strong political influence when deciding what textbook to administer to students in the United States. Texas, being the biggest investor in textbooks, has a heightened level of power over authors when they publish. It may be discrete, but authors might write their book abiding to what the majority of buyers want to read. For example, a history book was criticized for including events such as gay rights and global warming. Although this information is not accepted by some, does not mean they should disregard this as "non-factual". The article stresses how the gathering of facts is not going to create an adequate textbook, but the incorporation of these facts with meaning and values.
Paragraph two:
This article is about how charter schools offer the best education and public schools don't get that higher education like the charter schools do. I feel like it's not far for kids that have money and can pay their whole life into a better education. I think every school should get that same difficulty of education. Just because students that can't afford to go to a charter school doesn't mean they can't be taught the same thing as the charter students. I feel like it's only right for every kid to get a great education growing up which will help kids get multiple wealthy job options in the future.
