Discussion Post: Empathy
After viewing our first Zoom lecture and the YouTube videos hyperlinked in the Reading module in Canvas, ponder what you learned about perception, emotions, personal filters, and diversity of experience. Submit a 2 page paper answering the following questions:
a) Did either presentation stir empathy or compassion in you?
b) What do you understand empathy and/or compassion to mean?
c) How can you become more empathetic?
d) Consider a day in the life of a legal professional working in a family law firm-with what sort of individuals might you interact?
e) Do you think there any place for the practice of empathy in the practice of law? Why or why not?
