Magnesium and zinc react with the hydrochloric acid to form the hydrogen gas and metal chlorides. A 10.00g mixture of Mg and Zn is reacted with the stoichiometric quantity of HCl. The reaction mixture is then reacted with 156ml of 3.00M silver nitrate to produce the maximum possible quantity of silver chloride.
