Read about culture, language, and communication. Our society has offered a gift by mandating that people move closer to understanding the nuances and communication. People listen to the news and hear a storyline delivered from a specific narrative. Then change the channel and listen to the same storyline delivered through a different narrative. More times than not, we are left to decipher which narrative is more accurate, or more realistic, and which narrative we prefer to accept. This simple engagement with packaged or repackaged information where messaging is coded, and facts are frequently altered to fit the viewing population is eloquently delivered through multimedia sources that force us to embark on a journey of discovery or despair. A trending and popular idea is the need for us to discover ways in which we can communicate across cultural groups while minimizing inter-group conflict. Share ways in which envision groups of varying cultures sharing land and resources interrelating and communicating in a manner that minimizes or eliminates conflict. Examining chapters assigned this week and clearly articulating how this happening. In other words, how can people prevent intergroup conflict?
