Matching subjects in research designs
How can matching subjects make the groups more equivalent? If you match your subjects on their ability to perform well on an intelligence quotient (IQ) test and you distribute the matched pairs over two groups, then does this seem to make sense if you are looking at two different methods for dealing with stress? Why? When does such a study make sense, and when does it not make sense?
