Now that you have researched a specific disability category and explored how the laws govern how we identify and provide special services for individuals with that disability, it is now time to reflect on how you as an individual can advocate for your selected disability category.
Task
To complete this homework, first reflect on your research. Then, in a 2 pages paper (not counting title and references pages), share 3 to 4 specific ways in which you could advocate for your selected disability. Be sure to address the following in your paper:
o How can I provide advocate/awareness of this disability category on a local level?
o How can I provide advocate/awareness of this disability category on a state level?
o How can I provide advocate/awareness of this disability category on a national level?
o Is there already an organization for this disability category in my area? If so, how can I collaborate with this organization? If not, where is the nearest one, and how could you collaborate with that organization remotely?
o Include websites and/or information for local, state, and national organizations where applicable.
Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:
o The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
o The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
