Discussion Post: Spiritual Awareness & the Profession
Spiritual and religious values, beliefs, and experiences often shape the contexts of social work practice at both a professional level and a personal level. This self-reflective assignment asks you to consider your own personal religious/spiritual/values background and discuss elements, experiences, and influences that have helped you define your spiritual/sacred self. What defines your spirituality and religious experience?

• How are your spirituality and religious experience relevant to and influenced your developing role as a social work professional?
You will also conduct a study of another spiritual/religious belief that is different from your own. For example, if one's faith in Christianity, you may complete a survey of Judaism's values, characteristics, and beliefs. It will be an examination of whom you are and where you are spiritual. You will also develop an awareness of other religions.
The response should include a reference list. One-inch margins, Using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, double-space and APA style of writing and citations.
