Discussion Post: Symbolic Language
How is language symbolic? How does the arbitrary nature of language create misunderstandings and the naming of objects and experiences? Consider this question in relation to racial and ethnic problems that occur in the US. What steps can we take as individuals to guard against such misunderstandings?
