Respond to one of the essay prompts listed below. Be sure to begin the writing process by utilizing one method of prewriting/invention (outlining, brainstorming/listing, working through the journalists' questions, mapping or webbing) on a separate sheet of paper (turn it in with your completed essay).
Then, organize the material that you have generated to respond to the individual prompt you have selected.
Please label your paper with your name and the number of the question you have selected. All pages should be stapled together (without this sheet, which should be returned separately, unmarked).
You will have approximately sixty minutes to complete the essay. The completed essay should have a clear thesis within an introduction, a body with strong points of support (paragraphs), and a clear conclusion.
1. Imagine your English Composition (or Communication) instructor is encouraging you to develop a Facebook page to fulfill a class assignment. Discuss the decisions ahead of you regarding audience, purpose. content. format/genre, etc.
How and why would you consider these factors?
How would a Facebook page for an assignment be different from a Facebook page you might have in your personal/private life? Why?
2. One of the major goals for English 10000 is to help you grow as readers, writers. and thinkers. Select an element from your classroom experience this term that has encouraged your growth, such as a classroom activity, group activity. or writing or reading assignment.
