1. Discuss how and why pre-World War II Asian immigrants (i.e., Chinese, Japanese and Filipinos), and their descendants faced so much discrimination in the United States, particularly in California. You should also discuss what happened to Japanese Americans and Japanese Latin Americans during World War II. Finally, compare prewar and postwar Asian immigration through the mid-1980s, with respect to the types of immigrants and refugees that came.
