How access is a very cost-effective choice in small business

Problem:

For small businesses or specific departments, Access is a very cost-effective choice. It handles environments where multiple people need to work at the same time much better than a basic spreadsheet can, all while avoiding the expensive licensing and maintenance fees associated with larger systems. Since I manage a massive list of vendors, Access would provide a much more robust framework for tracking details and adding updates. This structure simplifies professional workflows in a way that standard spreadsheets simply cannot match (Coronel & Morris, 2019). However, the software does face some significant limitations regarding how much it can grow and how secure it stays. Access has a strict file size limit and can often experience performance lag when too many users try to access the database at the exact same moment (Alexander & Kusleika, 2021). Additionally, because it is a file-based system rather than a server-based one, it is more likely to suffer from data corruption if there is a sudden network glitch or power failure (Coronel & Morris, 2019).
