How a person identifies

Problem: I have no issue with how a person identifies. The main thing is if people are not completely sure if they know how they want to identify. This is where surgery comes into place. My train of thought is surgery is not reversable. So say for example someone goes and get this surgery done and then changes their mind? Now they are this way forever. I am unsure on if there is any therapies that have to be taken before a person receive this surgery. If there isn't any, do you feel people should have to take classes or therapy sessions before?
