Assignment:
Chosen airport: PDX( PORTLAND INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT)
The term project will be an in-depth case study of an airport of the student's choosing. Each student will complete a written report (5 pages - double spaced) and give an oral presentation (PowerPoint).
History of the development of the airport
Statistics for the airport
(passengers, cargo, growth, etc.)
Governing mechanism
(including overview of management organization).
Layout information
(type of terminals, gates, runways, integration of other modes of transportation such as highways, railroads, etc.)
Services and tenants of the airport and their significance on the operation of the airport
Map of layout of the airport
Information on the surrounding area
(economic and socioeconomic impact of the airport)
Challenges that face the airport
(current issue, obstacles to operation and growth, etc.) and student's recommendations for the airport and its future growth
