For this problem we choose to fit three linear models to the response Dist using the provided predictors. These three linear models are then compared using the anova techniques from this chapter. Specifically, we choose to fit the following models
Here Cond is a factor that determines the direction of the fans. Since the first model is the most general we compare all models to that one. In Table 8 we present a comparison of the four models. In that table we see table we see that there is a statisticlly significant difference between all of the simpler models. This gives an indication that the placement of the fans does contribute to the distance a given ball travels.
