Teachers working with young children can also be significant in the way they teach the children to act respectfully and free of bias. Educators act as outstanding examples of kindness, fairness, and inclusion when they show children the way of respecting the differences. This can be supported by educators with the help of books, discussions, and diversity celebratory activities. I would intervene immediately in case I were the ECE professional in the room. Young children might not comprehend the fact that it is painful to leave out another person due to their difference. I would remind the children calmly that everybody is welcome to play and make them include the child at the water table.

I would quickly discuss with the children in question how their behavior can affect a person and explain the significance of kindness and belonging. I would also explain to the family of the child in case they need to know how the situation was managed. I would also take this as a learning experience to the entire class because I would discuss fairness, friendship and tolerance to differences so that all children feel appreciated and treated as part of the community.
