You mention that the EFQM model is balanced and is very flexible. I think that is perhaps one of the most important aspects of the model since it recognizes that businesses are going to have different structures and the model needs to be able to support that for it to remain relevant. I have had the privilege of introducing and implementing quality models in several different companies and was consistently impressed by how easily the models fit the company regardless of how different the industry and organizational structure was. At the end of the day all business will share the most important aspects of the EFQM model and are able to leverage the approach to improve their operation.
