Assignment: Critical Reflection- Speaking Up
Using the scenarios write a 2 to 3 pages reflection on the following.
o How would you respond in Scenario?
o Now imagine the chair asks for everyone's input except for a colleague who in some way is different from the others at the table. Maybe the colleague is the only female, non-binary, or gender non-conforming person sitting amongst a group of cisgender men. Maybe your colleague is an immigrant or an English language learner sitting at a table of colleagues who were born and raised in the country and grew up speaking English. Maybe the colleague is BIMPOC and is surrounded by individuals who are white. Maybe the colleague is also a community member or a stakeholder eligible for services. How would you respond in a way that supports the person, but does not take away their voice?
o Have you been in a situation like this in the past? How did you respond? If that happened again, would you respond differently?
o Have you ever been in a situation where you intentionally or unintentionally overlooked the voice of someone? What could you have done differently to create a space where all voices and perspectives were honored?
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
o The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
o The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
o Also include a reference page. The Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
