This narrative should be at least two (2.0) full, typed, double-spaced pages. Aim for approximately 600 words. It is understood you could say much more but are keeping it concise.
Organize your writing in five or six paragraphs.
On page one, put your name, course number, and date submitted. Then center an essay title.
Begin with an introductory paragraph describing your current occupation, your academic goals or reasons for taking this class, and your current reading habits.
Have a thesis statement that expresses in one or two sentences what three influences, people, or events your paper covers.
In the body of your paper, tell about three experiences or influences important to your development as a reader.
Write a paragraph or more for each influence. In essence, these paragraphs encapsulate the most important things you took away from the three experiences.
In your conclusion paragraph, explain how these experiences contributed to making you the reader or non-reader that you are today.
