Group members to determine what division is appropriate

Group Project:

Each Student will participate in a group project on one of the assigned topics.

Specifics: Each group will conduct original research in the form of surveys on the assigned topic. You will decide on which of the following topics you wish to work on: Gendered Relationships, Popular Culture, or Terrorism, War, and Violence. You will then decide on a FOCUS for the project. It is important to collect specific information about the respondents in order to give you data more relevance. Ask specific, open and close-ended questions, avoiding simple yes/no types of questions. Once the surveys are completed, compile and analyze the data and then write the paper. You may use secondary sources to supplement your work, but I want the majority of this to come from your own research.

Each group should divide the work in whatever way they see fit. It is up to the group members to determine what division is appropriate. I suggest that one person be a secretary so that group materials can be easily located. I will supervise when needed and requested. I am available for consultation at any time throughout the semester.

NOTE: A group member can be removed from a group with the consensus of the remaining group members and pending my final approval. The removed member will have to complete a written project alone. The removal of a group member is a serious decision, as it can negatively impact the student’s grade, and therefore, should only occur when no other recourse remains. I am available for consultation at any time regarding this issue. But remember that the decision is the group's; I will not remove any member without the request of the group members.
